Imagine being given a life expectancy of only 3 to 4 years. Then, when surpassing that age, being told that you would not have a normal life. No marriage. No children. No profession. What would you do?
That's exactly what Sarah Manuel was told her life would be. She decided that those prognostications would not define her. The disorder that was supposed to kill her, instead, left her in a wheelchair filled with incredible perseverance. Rather than looking at her disability as a hindrance, she learned to embrace the things about herself that were unique. Because of this, Sarah grew up to have a successful professional career, met her soulmate over 20 years ago and has been happily married ever since. She even defied the wisdom of doctors by getting pregnant and is joyfully watching her son grow up.
Today, Sarah is a school psychologist, author, and coach, as well as a wife and mother. Sarah's story is one of overcoming adversity and the naysayers, taking charge of her own future, and creating the life she wants. She's determined to inspire others to celebrate their differences, embrace their abilities, discover their purpose, and live a joyful life.
